Get your Italian On! Festa della Liberazione (Liberation Day)
Ok, the day after Easter is hard to get back in the mood for a celebration. But if you have that Italian DNA in you, you had to celebrate April 25, 2011 Italian Holiday – Liberation Day in Italy.
April 25th is Liberation Day in Italy. The national holiday, called Festa della Liberazione in Italian, celebrates the fall of the Mussolini regime in 1945. In Venice, as in most Italian cities, veterans and history-conscious citizens organize ceremonies to remember the day of liberation and those who died during World War II.
It’s not too late to get your Italian on and have your own celebration! In honor of the day, I wanted to share with you the Vino 2011, Italian Wine Week highlights! Enjoy!
