Jose Trillo at Drink Ribera.Drink Spain. Miami Grand Tasting
My new recipe for a great event: one part wine from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain; one part Miami; one part great people like Jose Trillo, President of the Consejo Regulador of Ribera del Duero.
Drink Ribera. Drink Spain. hosted 117 wineries from the prestigious Ribera del Duero region of Spain in the 2nd Annual Grand Tasting on March 8, 2011. The event attracted over 400 wine industry professionals and guests for the largest Ribera tasting ever assembled in Florida. Held at the Rubell Family Collection/Contemporary Arts Foundation Gallery in the fashionable Miami Design District, Ribera wines were expertly paired with tapas prepared by celebrated Chef Michelle Bernstein of Sra. Martinez and Michy’s.
The 2011 Drink Ribera Grand Tasting began with an exclusive trade and media seminar hosted by Jose Trillo, President of the Consejo Regulador of Ribera del Duero, and Puri Mancebo, Export Director of Vega Sicilia, an icon winery from Ribera del Duero. Commenting on the high turnout for the event Trillo stated, “Miami is the ideal market for us to present our 2nd Annual Drink Ribera Wine Grand Tasting in the U.S. There is a high level of interest and enthusiasm for Ribera wines in Florida, and we look forward to continuing our momentum on a national stage with the 2011 Drink Ribera Road Tour.”
The Drink Ribera Road Tour is a sampling, educational and workshop program for wine professionals and consumers focusing on the New York, Florida, Washington, DC, Chicago, Texas, and California markets.
