Mud House Wines Wins Big at Wrigley #NZSipsChicago
Winning at Wrigley Field in Chicago doesn’t happen that often. The last time the Cubs won the World Series was in 1908. We won’t have to wait that long to taste a “winning wine” at Wrigley Field. The #NZSipsChicago campaign landed at the Brixen and Ivy rooftop and Mud House Wines was part of the winning wine combination for the day.
Mud House Wines winemaker Ben Glover was a key “player” in the days event with sure hands and great wine served for nine innings. No relief pitcher needed for Mr. Glover! Ben was also on hand for the Complexity New Zealand Fine Wine wine-tasting and Masterclass with Wine Channel TV CEO and host, Jessica Altieri.
Mud House vineyards carry a strong tradition of producing vintage Pinot Gris from their Waipara Vineyard. The Waipara wine region expands a vast area of land in the sunny Teviotdale Hills away from the ocean’s coastline. With limestone soil and a warm climate, it’s the perfect place to produce Pinot Gris and Mud House vineyards has taken its taste to another level. Their 2010 Pinot Gris Waipara Home Block has gone through an extensive process of cold-pressing the grapes and continuously keeping the wine at a cool temperature during the fermentation process. In addition, for a period of two to three months, the wine is aged on lees or residual yeast during the fining process. Sip this wine to discover not only hints of pear peach but notes of sweet honeysuckle and rare, spicy gingerbread as well.
