Wine Marriage or “Honey I’m Good”?
It happens every time you go out. The waiter brings out the wine list. You see your favorite wine. The waiter recommends a few new wines. Do you dare “two-time” your favorite wine? Are you married to your wine? Are you hearing this tune: “Honey, I’m Good” by Andy Grammer? If so you’re not alone. More consumers today are experimenting with new wines and playing the wine dating game.
Let’s face it, if you love wine like we do here at Wine Channel TV, it’s “guilt” time when you see your favorite wine and pass on it for dinner or a get together with friends. We’re of the belief that we can all have a “weekend wine” or a “Wednesday Wine” and still keep our “loyalty” to our favorite wine. Wine brands are about trust and the feeling that you can trust that that brand will deliver a quality product every time. Yet, we still want to “taste and date” new wines with “long legs” and sexy labels that say “sip me”.
We say, keep dating; get out of that wine marriage. In fact, get a wine divorce this year if that’s what it takes.
