Arlington Park Race Track and WineChannelTV celebrate the 4th
A great glass of wine can only get better …while winning some races at the racetrack !
I visited the Arlington Park Race Track in Arlington Heights, Illinois to celebrate the 4th of July with a bang. Robert Mondavi was the only wine brand of choice, so I went with the refreshing citrus and ripe tropical noted Chardonnay to start that paired nicely with my charbroiled chicken. And don’t forget about the incredible Bloody Mary bar, with all the toppings you could imagine from pickles, olives and celery to Worcester sauce.
I’ve been visiting the racetrack ever since my high school graduation was there out on the lawn and I got a winning streak going then. The track is simply gorgeous, having been around since 1927. Arlington was host to the first million dollar race, The Arlington Million, in 1981 and would go on to merge with ChurchHill Downs Inc. in 2000. In 2008, Arlington became one of the first tracks in the country to allow guests to purchase and print Arlington tickets online.
