Ascentia Wine Estates and WineChannelTV at Chicago Gourmet
Ascentia Wine Estates and Steve Grass met up with WineChannelTV while at Chicago Gourmet to talk all things wine, and taste wine from one of the oldest wineries in the country.
Ascentia Wine Estates is named after the Ascentia Vineyard located in Sonoma’s Alexander Valley. First we sampled their Carneros Buena Vista Pinot Noir, which Steve mentioned is one of the oldest wineries in California. The 2006 Carneros won a double gold medal in the San Francisco International Wine Competition. The wine is around $14.99 with a nice, smooth cherry start, and an earthy mushroom like finish that lingers on.
That day we also tasted Columbia Winery’s Cellarmaster Riesling which Steve thought would be a perfect wine for new wine drinkers and millenials with it’s sweet, peachy, crisp refreshing finish. I agree!
Watch WineChannelTV and take a look at these wines you should be checking out!
