Caymus Vineyards Cabernet and homemade BBQ is a winning combination for a beautiful day..or any day 🙂

A few weeks ago I hosted WCTV’s weekly #winechat ( which is Live every Thursday at 8pCT , join this week for a great giveaway!) with guest Frank Gutierrez. Frank is the Social Media Manager/Film Maker for the Wagner Family in California. He represents a number of wines, such as Conundrum, Mer Soleil, Belle Glos, Meiomi, and Caymus Vineyards.

Recently, I was in the mood for a big bold Caymus with my BBQ so I decided to open a 2008 Cabernet. This wasn’t the first time, or the last time, I’ve had Caymus. Caymus  is perfect for that special occasion with friends and family, and it always makes my day.

This blended Cabernet is made from a variety of selected sites throughout Napa Valley, including Mountain and Valley fruit which added to the rich structure, tannins and character of the wine. Nuances of French oak and cassis made this a perfect match to my bar-b-que brunch.

    Hey Jess, Ben, my husband, received a bottle of the 2008 Caymus for his birthday (along with a Cakebread Cab) last week. Thanks for the virtual tasting. What do you think? Should I drink or hold? I had the 2007 which was very good too.

    Hi Melinda! I’ve had the 2008 and though it is very enjoyable, it’s still quite young!
    I would wait a year or two at least…if you can! 😉
