Glasses aren’t included, but hey – that’s what friends are for.
So what’s the story behind Sauvignon Blanc? Originally from the Bordeaux area of France, this green grape produces a dry, crisp taste that is incredibly refreshing for the spring season. Sauvignon Blanc originates from south western France along the maritime coast near the Atlantic Ocean. The wine’s name comes from the French words sauvage blanc or wild white due to its color and location in indigenous nature. Sauvignon Blanc is known for its “green flavor” with tastes of grass, flowers, and vibrant, soft notes of fresh citrus fruit.
One of the better known wineries that produce great tasting Sauvignon Blanc is St. Supery Vineyards and Winery in Napa Valley and you don’t want to miss out on their Estate Sauvignon Blanc. Taste this Sauvignon Blanc for yourself and you will find a light blend of fresh grapefruit with a good bit of zesty green lime and lemon as well.
When it comes to serving wine with seafood, it can be difficult to find the “Killer Pairing” but the St. Supery Winery’s Estate Sauvignon Blanc is perfect with freshly caught oysters on the half shell. When you try it, you will be able to tell that fresh oysters are a great complement the crisp citrus taste of this wine. Even if you do not live by an ocean, you may still be able to find oysters at a great restaurant in your city which could make this National Sauvignon Blanc Day the perfect date night! So what do you think of this Killer Pairing? Let us know how you will celebrate the night!
