Wine Friday and Friends – Discover Beaujolais
Buckingham Fountain in Chicago is the setting for a “Friday Funday” with Discover Beaujolais at the Windy City Wine Festival. The Discover Beaujolais campaign provides consumers with educational, fun and forward thinking food pairings. Wine Channel TV CEO and Certified Sommelier Jessica Altieri was on site at Markethouse Restaurant in Chicago, with Flow Wine Group Sommelier, Elke Girresch for a private tasting and food pairing. Executive Chef Scott Walton of Markethouse Restaurant had the honors of preparing 4 dishes for the tasting and was up to the challenge. The Discover Beaujolais campaign and selected wines will be featured at the upcoming Windy City Wine Festival in Chicago on September 7-8, 2012.
The wine lifestyle with Discover Beaujolais is a year round opportunity to discover great wine, food and friends. Do you “Beaujolais” in Spring and Summer? Why wait for one past midnight on the third Thursday of each November? The French wines of the Beaujolais region are made from handpicked Gamay grapes. The region is best known for its light red wines, which taste great chilled and offer a refreshing flavor profile. A small amount of French white wine and pink rosé is also made in the Beaujolais region.
