McCormick & Kuleto’s Seafood Restaurant, George Lucas and Wine TV in San Francisco
I love staying down by the Wharf and visiting the famous Ghirardelli Square for obviously chocolate, some great wine and seafood whenever I’m in San Francisco.
McCormick & Kuleto’s Seafood Restaurant is located in the historic Ghirardelli Square and a part of McCormick and Schmicks, which I frequently visit in Chicago.
The restaurant was designed so every seat has a view of the bay, it’s almost like being on a cruise ship!
As well, the menu is printed twice daily to keep up with the freshest fish that’s brought in. I went with a grilled shrimp plate to start that paired nicely with my crisp, citrusy Sauvignon Blanc from the Wine Bar next door, Wattle Creek, which I visited earlier that day.
I learned some pretty neat facts about the place from their menu, such as how the original idea was to open a Star Wars Bar and Museum in the location since George Lucas was friends with co-owner Pat Kuleto. On a side note, Lucas actually has his own wine, Skywalker Ranch. I wonder how it is?!
Pat and Bill McCormick met in Hawaii on a trip many years before the restaurant opened, then kept in touch over the years and launched McCormick and Kuleto’s in 1991 .
Watch WineChannelTV and let me know your thoughts on this legendary spot.
Cheers,
