Robert Mondavi and great wine are synonymous.

While at Chicago Gourmet I met with Carl from Robert Mondavi Winery who filled me in on what has made this winery as legendary as it is since its inception in 1966.

One wine that has led the way is their Napa Valley Cabernet.  At around $30 you’ll get an intense Napa Valley flavor without having to spend an arm and a leg to get it.

The winery tours across the country and has their own specific “givino” glasses which help bring out the true essence of their wine.

Emmy Award Winner Ted Allen is one of their ambassadors and travels across the country with the “Robert Mondavi Discover Wine” set helping people feel at ease around food and wine. I literally felt like I was brought back to Napa standing in their wooden enclosed wine area, and the small cans of different “scents” were on display so you can truly understand what a certain scent smells like and compare it to your wine…I loved that, this is something ALL wineries should have!
