Wine Judges You Need To Know – Part 4

Here is a glimpse of some of the great wine judges for this years competition:
Peter Lopez Jr. is a voice for the millennial generation in the wine industry. Peter has spent many years in the wine industry, starting as a warehouse worker, to a wine lead, to now someone with the experience of working in sales for several different wine industry organizations. During his previous role as a manager and buyer for Wilibees Wines of California, he helped the company become Petaluma People’s Choice for the “Best Place to Buy Wine”. Now, he is a partner at Healdsburg Emporium and takes on the role of buying wine and beer. Always eager to share with others all that he knows about the wine industry, Peter is especially excited to talk to other Millennials about wine.
Traci Dutton loves wine. So much so, she handles both the beverage manager and sommelier roles for The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. She also helps to oversee different operations around the campus including their Wine Spectator Greystone Restaurant, the Professional Wine Studies Program, and Special Events. She has also worked for a number of fine restaurants including the Striped Bass. Traci is a familiar face in other wine competitions as a judge, with great knowledge about French, Italian, California, and northeastern USA wines.
Salvatore Curreri works at Canneti Roadhouse right in his hometown of Forestville with chef and owner, Francesco Torre. For many years, Salvatore has taken part in working with many others in the wine industry throughout his career in the restaurant and fine dining business. One of his many successes includes receiving a level 2 certification as sommelier from the Academy of Wine.
Proprietor and Sommelier for Source Wine Brokers, Welsey Box has also had many other roles throughout the wine industry. With his viticulture and winemaking experience at Arista Vineyards and Red Car Wine Company, Welsey also gained experience as the Wine Director for Vin-Antico restaurant and Wine Bar.
