WineChannelTV visits the Fourth oldest winery in California
The fourth oldest “continuously operating winery” in California is not located in the infamous Napa Valley. You’ll have to head to Los Gatos, CA to find Testarossa Winery, which was once a Novitiate winery that housed seminary students.
This winery has come a long way since its 19th century fruition.
I got a chance to meet with Testarossa’s owner/founder Rob Jensen, the man with the red hair behind the winery’s Italian name. He guided me through the vineyards, exquisite tasting and barrel rooms to show me the new legacy he began with his wife in 1997.
Each year their wines have progressed with higher and higher ratings.
Their 2008 Bien Nacido Vineyard Chardonnay, Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Chardonnay and Bien Nacido Vineyard Pinot Noir all garnered an astounding 94 points by Wine Enthusiast.
It even states on their site to be “one of California’s Top Chardonnay producers.”
Take a look at JustJess of WCTV at Testarossa to see just what makes this winery so unique!
