WineChannelTV visits Vienna’s NaschMarkt in Austria
If you’re looking for a real taste of Vienna Culture, the Vienna NaschMarkt is the place to visit. This Market dates back to the 16th century, and is about a mile long of endless stands with every Austrian food, drink, spice, oil and more, that your heart could desire in one location.
The fresh fruit, olive oils, fish, indian spices, restaurants, clothing, cheese, olives, breads, and desserts were fantastic, but what really stood out was the wine.
One veggie stand turned wine bar caught my attention with the wooden barrels out front so I headed in for something refreshing. I met with Elena, the daughter of the owner, who had started selling vegetables there 15 years ago then saw the opportunity for selling wine.
They have typical Viennese wines such as Gruner Veltliner, Blaufrankish, Zweigelt, , Spanish and Italian Wines. I went with a glass of refreshing Prosecco to start, then a typical Viennese mixed orange spritzer drink on the scorching hot day I was there.
I would definitely recommend visiting this market to truly experience the culture, and especially if you like dogs since it was very dog friendly!
