Sip of Chicago Cubs World Series Banner and Ring Ceremonies

Jessica Altieri Chicago CubsIt’s a World Series banner raising, ring giving week in Chicago and after waiting for 108 years, the Cubs do it in style.

We had the chance to meet with Joe Maddon and Tom Ricketts at the Michigan Avenue Magazine event showcasing their late spring issue featuring Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon.

We’re also pretty sure that all of the Chicago is taking a “Ferris Bueller” day off this week… observance of this championship celebration.

Speaking of Ferris, here are the top 5 things you probably didn’t know about Ferris Bueller’s Day Off…..enjoy!

  1. The actors who played Ferris’s parents, Cindy Pickett and Lyman Ward, later married in real life.
  2. The exterior shots of Ferris’s high school were filmed at  Glenbrook North High – where John Hughes went to school.
  3. The events in the film take place on June 5, 1985.
  4. John Hughes wrote the first draft of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off in just six days.
  5. A number of car number plates in the film reference John Hughes films – see ‘VCTN’ (National Lampoon’s Vacation), ‘TBC’ (The Breakfast Club) and ‘4FBDO’ (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off).

Cheers to Championship Celebration Week!
