Robert Mondavi Winery – Yes Please!
The Robert Mondavi Experience – Priceless.
Some words give you a vision just by saying them. Robert Mondavi Winery. Go ahead; say it. Can you picture it? Can you see the history, passion and memories created by this legendary winemaker? Wine Channel TV and host Jessica Altieri had the opportunity to take part in a special visit; the Robert Mondavi Oakville Odyssey Tour, in conjunction with the Taste of Oakville. We’re thrilled to share a small slice of the Robert Mondavi Winery with you here on Wine Channel TV.
As you can only imagine, the “Mondavi” experience is a special combination of people, wine, food, art and passion. Our tour included seeing the new Robert Mondavi sculpture by artist Len Urso. The passion of winemaking at Robert Mondavi has been passed on to many and we had a chance to meet with Director of Winemaking Genevieve Janssens and Winemaker Megan Schofield, the newest member of the Robert Mondavi Winery.
The beauty of Robert Monday Winery starts with the To Kalon Vineyard. The To Kalon Vineyards provide Robert Mondavi Winery with grapes for its Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and Oakville District Cabernet Sauvignon, and is the exclusive source of the Fumé Blanc Reserve. The views here are simply spectacular.
Did I mention the tasting of great wines? Here are a few of my favorites from the lunch and dinner sessions:
- 2013 Moscato D’Oro Napa Valley
- 2013 Chardonnay Napa Valley
- 2012 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet
Wine brands seem to be popping up daily around the world. Will they stand the test of 50+ years? Who knows? If you haven’t had the chance to experience Robert Mondavi Winery as a destination and/or wine, put it on your “bucket” list. And if someone asks you if you would like to visit Robert Mondavi Winery, there is only one response: “Yes Please”! Cheers and stay tuned to Wine Channel TV for wine lifestyle entertainment from around the world.
