Wine Judges You Need To Know – Part 5
The 2014 International Wine Channel TV Awards will be here in just a couple of days and it’s time you get to know the final group of judges for the competition.The competition will be held September 16-17 and features the following professional wine judges: Zack Zimmerman, Nicole Bacigalupi, Corey Lester, and Ali Nemo.
Zack Zimmermans family has a history of agriculture that goes all the way back to the 1850’s. Following in his ancestor’s footsteps, he works with the Sonoma County Farm Bureau as a Business Membership Relations Coordinator. Highly interested in fine and rare wines, Zack has also been focusing on inventory organization, management, and appraisals of the best wines. He has worked at several wineries as a sales manager including Arista Winery.
Nicole Bacigalupi is part of the Bacigalupi Vineyard tradition. After she graduated from San Diego State University with a Business degree and an emphasis on marketing, she traveled throughout the US to build account relationships with retail shops and restaurants. After working with Silver Oak Cellars for four years to learn more about the wine industry, she received her sommelier certificate in 2008. Since 2011, Nicole helps manage and market the family’s John Tyler wines tasting room with her twin sister, Katey.
Born in California, Cory Lester began to learn about wines while working for a fine restaurant in a small town in Ohio. With her degree in Equine Entrepreneurship, Cory returned to California to work for winery-based restaurants. Since beginning her first few years learning about the industry, she is now a certified sommelier and works in sales for Trusty Hurst Winery.
Ali Nemo got her first taste for the wine industry as a server for a marina in Sarasota, Florida back in 2006 and soon after began working for national and international wine distributors in southern Florida. In 2011, Ali left Florida for California to learn from some of the best winemakers and is currently working at Handley Cellars.
With an immense amount of experience in the wine industry and their impressive careers, all of our judges will play a key role at the competition. Stay tuned for updates from the competition at Wine Channel TV!
